The Law Lords are considering giving leave for appeal in a libel action against Mirror Group Newspapers. The action was brought by Lorraine Clare following stories, based on allegations by her former husband after she had removed their children to Australia, that she was connected with a drugs gang. Her husband withdrew the allegations, but they had already been published. The Law Lords will consider her application after 13 August, giving MGN an opportunity to lodge objections.
