White & Case is to reopen its Milan office with the hire of two Latham & Watkins London partners.

The international firm has appointed Michael Immordino (left) and Jonathan Clark as partners in its global capital markets practice with immediate effect. Clark, previously a partner at White & Case from 1996 to 2004, will rejoin the firm’s London office, while Immordino will split his time between London and Milan, strengthening the firm’s capital markets and M&A offering across the Emea region. White & Case London executive partner Oliver Brettle said: “We saw in Michael a great opportunity to help build a focused, high-level practice in Italy and also to reach out into other markets.”
Woodford Stauffer partner William Healing has joined Kingsley Napley as a partner.
He will develop the firm’s international family law offering, in particular Anglo-French family law.
Hill Dickinson has appointed Anthony Bailey as a legal director in the professional and financial risks team. He was previously an associate at Chadbourne & Parke, where he led insurance and reinsurance cases.
Kemp Little has recruited Siddhartha Mankad as its first chief operating officer. Mankad joins from Boodle Hatfield, where he was director of operations and IT from 2003.
Southampton-based Eric Robinson has bulked up its family and matrimonial team with two appointments. Solicitor Lisa Woolridge has joined the firm after taking some time out from her career. Prior to this she was a trainee solicitor at Warner Goodman.
She is joined by paralegal Kate Williams, who was previously a matrimonial legal secretary at Mackarness & Lunt.
Birketts has announced the arrival of solicitor Duncan McGregor, who joins the shipping, logistics and international services team based in Ipswich. Prior to this he was an associate at Wikborg Rein’s London office.
Macclesfield’s Blunts has appointed Gillian Balmer-Sumner to lead its family law and personal injury departments. She joins from Berry & Co, where she was an associate.
Ansons has hired legal executive Alexa Holgate, a residential property conveyancer, to head the firm’s residential property team in Cannock. She joins from Wragge & Co, where she was also a legal executive.
Jeff Alvey has rejoined Nottinghamshire-based Shacklocks as an associate. Alvey began his career at Shacklocks, training and qualifying at the firm in 1982. His most recent role was at Massers, where he was a partner.
Hill Dickinson has hired Barry Tickell as a costs draftsman in its Sheffield office. He joins the firm from Pannone, where he worked as a senior associate and head of costs.
Stephensons has recruited business management consultant Karen Baron to spearhead the delivery of an employment practice. She joins the firm’s commercial
team in Bolton from Financial & Legal Group, where she was a management consultant.
Pinsent Masons has strengthened its commercial team with the appointment of partner Samantha Livesey to its Manchester office. She joins from Pannone, where she was head of the firm’s IP, IT and e-commerce team.
Beauchamps has appointed a new managing partner in the form of John White, who has been with the firm since 1997. He was head of the firm’s corporate and commercial department from 2007, and succeeds Shaun O’Shea, who returns to the position of full-time partner in the corporate and commercial team.
Mason Hayes & Curran has strengthened its litigation practice with the promotiont of
Jane Pilkington to partner. She has been with the firm since 2008.
Clifford Chance has hired Aline Cardin, a French corporate lawyer, as a partner in the firm’s Paris M&A team. Cardin joins from Shearman & Sterling, where she was a European counsel.
Morgan Lewis & Bockius has boosted its Brussels office with the appointment of Werner Vanderhaeghe. He joins as senior counsel and will focus on the firm’s business and finance practice. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Vanderhaeghe acted as general counsel for the Bekaert Group and the Agfa-Gevaert Group.
The Johannesburg office of Eversheds has appointed Murray Stewart as a partner in the forensics department. Prior to joining the firm he ran his own forensic consulting practice.
Todd Culwell has joined Morgan Lewis & Bockius as a partner in the firm’s energy transactions practice in Houston. Prior to this he was a partner at Porter Hedges.
Winston & Strawn has hired David Dalke as of counsel in its IP litigation practice in Los Angeles. Dalke focuses on biotechnology and life sciences. He joins from O’Melveny & Myers, where he was of counsel in the California office.
K&L Gates has recruited Peter Fitzpatrick as a corporate partner in its New York office. Fitzpatrick joins from Arent Fox, where he was a partner.
Brigitte Gambini has joined Duane Morris’s New York office as a partner in the corporate practice group. Gambini was previously of counsel in the corporate group at Sullivan & Worcester.
