Chalcraft, who started work at Pannones on 25 July, is a former Masons partner. He was joint head of Pinsents’ Manchester property department and specialises in commercial property work.
Clients that Chalcraft brings to Pannones include Lancashire County Council and Westcott Homes.
The appointment, which was first revealed on www.thelawyer.com (2 August), follows several recent partner hires at Pannones, including planning partner John Holmes from Weightmans, Ian Tranter, an employment partner from Hammonds, and private client specialist Melanie Rowles, who joined from Mace & Jones.
Pannones is also in the process of recruiting an additional 75 staff, including 50 lawyers. By September the firm will have a total of 585 staff and fee-earners. Managing partner Joy Kingsley said the hires reflected continued growth throughout the firm.
Chalcraft said: “Pannones have got a very friendly group of partners and a well-established property team. I think that it was just a real opportunity to be part of Pannones’ move forward in the North-West marketplace.”
Kingsley added: “He’ll be a real asset to us.”
Following Chalcraft’s departure Pinsents’ Manches-ter property team will now be led by Pamela Young.
