Two Stanbrooks partners have also left to join the Brussels office of US firm McGuireWoods.
The merger will see Platteeuw De Witte’s three name partners, Willy Platteeuw, Marc De Witte and Lucia Grisar, join Stanbrooks, along with a fourth partner, Geert De Neef.
The Platteeuw De Witte partners have handled some EU law, but the bulk of their work was on Belgian M&A and corporate law. De Neef gives Stanbrooks its own tax capability for the first time.
The merger is intended to bolster Stanbrooks’ domestic Belgian law capacity. Outgoing partners Emmanuel de Cannart d’Hamale and Hubert Andre-Dumont specialise in Belgian corporate law.
