LG suffers finance hit as Pinsents lures trio

LG has lost three more partners with a banking and finance focus, with Pinsent Masons their destination.

Restructuring specialists Steven Cottee, Nick Pike and Tom Withyman will join Pinsents by next spring.

Commenting on the moves, Pinsents financial institutions head Stephen Miles said the hires were like “finding the missing pieces of a puzzle”.

“We’ve been expanding our banking and restructuring department this year and were looking for partners with strong banking relationships,” he added.

Miles said the hires will give the firm the critical mass it needs in London.

The departures come after financial litigation partners Jeremy Andrews, Jean-Pierre Douglas-Henry and James Curle defected to DLA Piper’s specialist litigation group and banking and finance lawyer Charles Malpass announced his decision to join Dechert next January.
