Ashurst has combined its head of European real estate and London real estate managing partner posts into a single role.
London partner Adrian Dear has taken on the combined role, replacing Simon Cookson as head of European real estate and Martin Wright as London real estate managing partner.
Both of the former management lawyers have returned to full-time fee-earning, although Cookson will continue to chair the firm’s European real estate steering group.
Dear said: “We’ve combined the two roles because we thought it would work better, but I’ll basically be carrying on as the department did before.
“We created the London real estate managing partner position three years ago, but we didn’t see any good reason to carry on with it – if there’s sufficient delegation it’s much simpler to have one person.”
