Nabarro Nathanson (Kevin Stimpson) advised GE Real Estate in the formation of a joint venture partnership with Haslemere to own five of Haslemere’s major UK shopping centres. As part of the £230m investment, £184m of senior debt financing has been secured from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Tods Murray advised on the Scottish property aspects. Gibson Dunn & Crutcher (Alan Samson) advised Westbrook Partners in a joint venture with Moorfield Group to acquire Heywood
Distribution Park from Ropemaker Properties, the property nominee of the BP Pension Fund, for £120m. Acquisition finance was arranged through Bank of Scotland. Herbert Smith and Robson Rhodes acted for Moorfield, DLA represented Ropemaker and Lovells advised Bank of Scotland.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Geoff Le Pard) acted for Scottish Widows in the sale of Steel House, London SW1, to CB Hillier Parker for £31m. Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw represented CB Hillier Parker.

Norton Rose (Simon Cox) acted for Peter Hambro Mining in its $30m (£18m) acquisition of OOO Tokursky Rudnik. Peter Hambro Mining’s nominated adviser, Canaccord Capital (Europe), was represented by Charles Russell. Triantafyllides & Spanos advised OOO Tokursky Rudnik.

SJ Berwin (Jon Vivian, Ed Page) acted for Strategic Partners UK Fund Number One, a closed fund managed by CB Hillier Parker Investors, in the acquisition of seven properties from Catalyst Capital for £36.1m, four from Citeoffer for £17.2m and one from private individuals. Denton Wilde Sapte represented Catalyst, Fladgate Fielder advised Citeoffer and Leonard Warner & Co acted for the private individuals.

Baker & McKenzie (Mark Henrick, Stephen Turner, Ai Ai Wong, Andrew Martin) advised Raffles Holdings on its sale of Browns Hotel, Mayfair to a company jointly owned by Sir Rocco Forte and family and the Bank of Scotland for £15.5m.
