David Hansel is an IP specialist dealing with IT, e-commerce, software and all forms of converging digital technology, sports and entertainment, licensing, sponsorship and merchandising.
He joins the London firm to head up the newly formed IP and digital technology unit, bringing with him his existing client base.
The firm is now on the hunt for assistant lawyers to join the new group. Corporate partner, Lesley Gregory says the firm has seen a massive surge in the demand for advice in the technology industry and Hansel's appointment will hope cope with that.
Senior partner, Peter Crystal, who also heads the firm's sports law department says: "David's expertise in sponsorship, merchandising and licensing will make him an asset to the practice.
