SCHEMES designed to help solicitors with the renewal of professional indemnity cover have been established by two insurance operations.
The plans, set up by Christchurch Holdings' newly-established subsidiary company Christchurch Professional Indemnity and Windsor Insurance Brokers, will benefit firms which are due to renew their top-up insurance next month.
Windsor's new Justice Insurance Plan is aimed at medium and large law firms, with top-up needs ranging from u5 million to more than u100 million.
The plan also offers solicitors a specially-designed legal profession office package which includes a feature to simplify coverage of lost billable hours. Christchurch's new company, headed by directors Jonathan Bergl and Russell Ennever, handles professional indemnity along with directors and officers and malpractice coverage and related insurances.
Ennever says the company recognises the needs of law-yers, and provides “tailor-made” individual advice for each firm, based on the needs of the practice.
“We constantly monitor issues, legislation and other matters which impinge on them (law firms), and act accordingly,” says Ennever.
“We advise each partnership specifically.”
