Nicholas Briggs, who was called to the bar in 1994 and was a member of Guildhall Chambers in Bristol and an associate tenant of Serle Court in London, will work across the firm’s offices in London and Bristol.
He replaces Simon Heald, who was head of insolvency litigation at Bristol firm Veale Wasbrough before it merged with City firm Vizards Tweedie. Heald now leads the merged entity.
Speaking of his move to the firm, Briggs said: “I wanted to join a law firm because I was interested in seeing a different side to the legal profession and having more contact with the clients – at the bar you tend to have cases that come before you, you advise, then they go away.
“What I enjoy doing is having more control of the case and being involved at an earlier stage.”
