Five more partners have left US firm Heller Ehrman, which recently announced its dissolution (TheLawyer.com, 26 September).
The five litigation partner shareholders, including several former litigation practice heads, have joined Arnold & Porter offices in Washington DC and Los Angeles.
Arnold & Porter chair Thomas Milch said that they would bolster the firm’s litigation strength in key geographical areas.
Dozens of Heller partners have left in recent months, which is understood to have triggered Heller’s dissolution.
Four of the five partners have joined Arnold & Porter as partners.
These include Heller’s former policy committee member and co-chair of the complex commercial litigation practice Kenneth Chernof who joins Arnold & Porter in Washington.
Also included are James Speyer, former chair of the litigation practice in Heller’s Los Angeles office, specialising in anti trust and complex litigation, joins Arnold & Porter in Los Angeles, and John Ulin, who was also a former chair of Heller’s Los Angeles litigation practice and will join in Arnold & Porter in the same city.
Former Heller IP partner Carl Nadler is joining Arnold & Porter in Washington as senior counsel and trial litigator and partner Eric Shapland as counsel in Los Angeles.
