DLA Piper is expected to open the office before the end of the year with a
team of between 10 and 15 lawyers.
DLA Piper managing partner for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Ivo Deskovic said he had plans to double the number of lawyers soon after the Bucharest launch to take advantage of busy market conditions in Romania.
“It’s still a dynamic market, one of the most dynamic in the region,” said Deskovic. “Romania’s the second-biggest economy in the CEE.”
Deskovic added that DLA Piper was still in talks with other local lawyers to boost the office’s main practice areas of corporate, real estate and finance.
