Linklaters ally Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners has hired client Banco di Napoli’s legal director to help launch an office in Naples.
Gianni Origoni is the first major firm to open in Naples and hopes to capitalise on economic growth due to an investment programme started by the previous government.
Nicola Tremante joins from Banco di Napoli with former Banco di Napoli legal chief Marco Marin and local practitioner Massimo Profili.
In 2000 and 2002, the firm expanded into Padua and Bologna respectively. It has existing clients in the Naples area, such as IPM Group, but a spokesperson said this move had a different dimension. “In Bologna and Padua there was already demand. We believe Naples is going to develop.”
