Last Wednesday (1 November) was the first anniversary of media boutique Swan Turton and, in true entertaining style, the partners invited one of Tulkinghorn’s scribes out to celebrate.

And it was not just any old bash. The firm, headed by paparazzi expert Charles Swan and music business legend Julian Turton, knows how to throw a party. Accordingly the scribe found himself in deepest Shoreditch at the launch of a new record label, Fred. Not only did BBC Radio 3 presenter Catherine Bott perform a selection of Medieval lute music, but art rock band Maxi Geil stormed the stage with its London debut. And lurking in the audience was a Cameron McKenna banking partner who turned out to be the man behind a new European orchestra preparing its debut in Slovakia. How eclectic can you get?
