Consolidation and expansion continues unabated in the offshore market. Most notably, offshore giant Ogier is focusing on growth in Asia following October’s announcement of its merger with British Virgin Islands-based best friend WSmiths.

This followed hot on the heels of Guernsey’s Ozannes launch in Jersey in September, six months after it announced its intention to be the first Guernsey firm to make such a move.

The Lawyer’s latest Offshore Special Report examines the legal issues fuelling growth, covering the gamut of offshore jurisdictions from Bermuda to the Isle of Man.

In particular, it debates the forthcoming abolition of corporate tax in the Channel Islands, Guernsey’s consideration of the introduction of a separate Registrar of Companies along the lines of the model in England, and the impact of the new Isle of Man Aircraft Register.
