The world’s largest tax services provider, H&R Block, has named Carol Graebner as executive vice president and general counsel.
Graebner takes over from Nicholas Spaeth, who will provide consulting support during the transition. Spaeth quit to “persue a new opportunity”.
Graebner officially takes over on Monday, 13 November at Kansas City-based H&R Block which generated revenues of $4.9bn in 2005-06.
Graebner joins from Dynegy, where she general counsel of the Houston-based energy company. Prior to that she had been general counsel at another Houston energy company, Duke Energy International. She previously worked in the in-house team of Conoco in both Houston and London.
At H&R Block, Graebner will oversee all legal functions, government relations and advocacy outreach for the company. She will report to chairman and chief executive officer Mark Ernst.
