Good to see that the shy and retiring former Herbert Smith and Wragges property leader Gerald Bland has not disappeared entirely since his departure from the Birmingham giant last year.
Via the machinations of a management consultancy “focused on strategy development and implementation” hired to punt his CV to anyone who’ll listen, the humble Mr B has created a website to trumpet his new business. “Welcome to the website of Gerald Bland,” it blathers, “the internationally acclaimed commercial lawyer, dealmaker, adviser and troubleshooter to a select group of blue-chip corporations and private clients.”
Modestly – and perhaps incredibly in the circumstances – there is no pic of Bland on the opening page of the site, just a serious-looking tome. But if it’s a photo you want, seek and you will find. As one acquaintance put it: ” He’s clearly lost none of his humility.”
