Orrick loses funds team to Morgan Lewis

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has lost a three-partner private investment funds practice out of its New York office to Morgan Lewis & Bockius.

Louis Singer, who chaired the practice group at Orrick, will take the same role at Morgan Lewis, along with Jedd Wider and Georgette Schaefer.

The group advises hedge funds, private equity funds, pension funds and university endowments in fund formations and investments.

The private funds area has seen a spate of lateral hires, the most recent of which was Willkie Farr & Gallagher taking a five-partner investment management practice from Shearman & Sterling.
