Norton Rose has lured two senior TMT associates from Allen & Overy (A&O) and Baker & McKenzie by offering them partnership.

Oliver Stacey and Sean Murphy were corporate finance senior associates specialising in the TMT sector for A&O and Bakers respectively but have been made partners in Norton Rose’s communications, media and technology (CMT) team.

Mike Rebeiro, Norton Rose global head of CMT, said: “Oliver and Sean’s appointments are step two of us growing the practice. Step one was bringing in Mike Knapper [former assistant European counsel at data provider Thomson] earlier this year and now we’re moving onto step three, which is to continue the organic growth in the practice as well as externally.”

Technology is one of Norton Rose’s key practice areas as outlined in its “headlights” strategy. The others are financial institutions, international corporate finance, energy and infrastructure, and transport.
