A beauty this week from Tulkinghorn's collection of embarrassing law firm names. Apparently there's a small outfit in New York called Mirkin & Gordon. For those not familiar with the word, a merkin (correct spelling) is a pubic wig, most common in the 16th and 17th centuries, when syphilis was rather prevalent. Coming a close second to Mirkin & Gordon in the embarrassing name department is UK firm Moon Beever. Tulkinghorn is too well brought up to explain why.
