Walsh’s departure follows the exits of Ralf Nathan, who moved in-house to Centrica, and David Fisher, who joined Field Fisher Waterhouse. The departures left the employment department with just one partner in London before Victoria Parry was recently made up.
The appointment of Walsh brings the number of partners in Richards Butler’s employment department to three, in a team of 13 lawyers.
Richards Butler partner and head of employment Robin Jeffcott said that Walsh’s experience at Osborne Clarke, and previously as a barrister at 2 Gray’s Inn Square Chambers, would complement the department’s particular focus on dispute resolution and employment tribunal work.
Walsh joins the firm as a full partner and will be working a four-day week to accommodate her family commitments. She said: “Working a four-day week was not an issue. Richards Butler has the right balance and attitude.”
