Lovells has introduced a pro bono trainee seat at the international charity Save the Children.
The move follows a firm-wide poll to choose the firm’s charity, in which 1,300 staff voted online. Employees were asked to prioritise one of the UN Millennium Development Goals, and decided to focus on the elimination of child poverty.
Save the Children is also Lovells’ international development charity, supported by Lovells’ offices around the world.
The trainee seat will start in September and will offer six-month placements for two trainees a year.
Work will include assistance with trademark registration, litigation, corporate governance, company/commercial and employment.
Lovells is also advising on the formation of a branch of Save the Children in Hong Kong.
Save the Children works in 28 countries, and has a current income of £550m.
