SJ Berwin’s partners are to vote on the successor to senior partner David Harrell before the end of the week.
The secret ballot will be opened up in “the next few days”, according to Harrell, with voting expected to close early next week.
The announcement comes after the partnership wrapped-up its extensive consultation on the nominees and election process on Tuesday night.
Managing partner Ralph Cohen, head of private equity Jonathan Blake, and head of EU and competition Stephen Kon were all understood to have been interested in the role.
Harrell would not comment on the final nominations for the election.
However, it is expected that partners will vote on a joint-ticket of Blake as senior partner and Cohen remaining as managing partner, with his role expanded to include ‘extra areas of authority’.
