Dewey Ballantine is ramping up its Italian presence after absorbing Milanese boutique Casella Minoli e Associati.
Name partner Luca Minoli joined Dewey Ballantine’s Milan office effective 1 October, bringing with him a salaried partner.
Fellow partner Paola Casella, a lecturer at Milan University, will act as a part-time external consultant to the firm.
Minoli advises significant Italian industrial groups – including a major concrete manufacturer and an electricity generation company – on M&A, structured and corporate finance and commercial litigation and arbitration.
The hires bring to eight the total number of partners in Dewey Ballantine’s Milan office, which opened last year after the hire of former Simmons & Simmons corporate partner Bruno Gattai.
