Donald Applegate has issued a writ against Occidental Petroleum Corporation, Occidental Peruana, Occidental International Exploration and Production Company, Occidental Petroleum Corporation of Peru, Petrex and Saipem. The writ alleges that he was injured while working at the Carbot Rig Site in Peru on 8 August 1992 and that his injuries were caused by negligence on the part of the companies he is suing.

Idris Williams, executor of the estates of the late Nesta Jones and David Jones, has issued a writ accusing Ray Lewis & Partners of Merthyr Tydfil of breach of contract and negligence in respect of advice over the administration and winding up of the estates of the Jones' between 199and 1994.

Property developer and civil engineer John Mowlem Construction of Middlesex is suing ACT Consultant Services of Cambridge, in respect of a "fly tower" and refurbishment of a theatre at Carmarthen, Wales. John Mowlem paid fees of £23,470 for ACT's design concept, but it is alleged that, in breach of contract and negligence, the final design differed from the information earlier provided to John Mowlem. The writ claims the designs were deficient and caused delay to John Mowlem and to its steelwork subcontractor.

Solent Mix Concrete of Dorking is suing Searchers Property Services of Havant for £3,881 for goods sold and delivered last November.

Historic Buildings Conservation of Gibraltar is suing BMB Partners "B" of London, in a dispute over access to its property in North Yorkshire, which is adjacent to property owned by BMB. Historic Buildings claims that it and its predecessors have used the accommodating road for more than 20 years, and claims a right of way under the Prescription Act 1832, or by virtue of the doctrine of lost modern grant. It seeks a declaration that it and others are entitled to right of way for all purposes and at all times, over two roads and other areas.
