Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is all the rage among our nation’s law firms. Frankly, if you’re not carbon-neutral and diverse and doing several hundred thousand hours of pro bono a year, then you’re not at the races.
Naturally, there remain a few dinosaurs unwilling to sign up to these politically correct times. But it’s not just the old school who remain cynical about such schemes.
Following the launch of one firm’s new CSR scheme, one young partner declaimed: “No, really, I just love all this CSR bullshit – I even drove here in a [Toyota] Prius.”
What’s that? Hear hear? Tsk tsk.
