Squire Sanders & Dempsey has hired two senior tax associates from the Warsaw office of French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel as part of a continuing expansion drive in Poland.
Former Gide Poland head of tax Tomasz Hatylak and Aneta Kowalska will join the firm. Hatylak tax clients include Pirelli RE, BNP Paribas, Dalkia SA and Enterprise Investors.
The move is part of a plan to build up the firm’s office in Poland. Last summer Squire Sanders prised a seven-lawyer team, including three partners and one of counsel, away from Baker & McKenzie in Warsaw, strengthening the firm’s corporate, banking, energy and telecoms practices.
Kevin Connor, head of Squire Sanders’ Warsaw office, said: “This is an exciting next phase of growth for the Warsaw office. We expect to see further growth as the momentum continues.”
