Clifford Chance has confirmed the re-election of David Pearson as London corporate practice head for a further four-year tenure.
Pearson, who has been a partner at Clifford Chance since 1996, has been re-appointed as the London corporate practice area leader from 1 January. He has been head of the London corporate practice since 2003.
Pearson’s election follows the recent trend at Clifford Chance, where virtually all of the management elections in the past three months have gone uncontested to the incumbent.
But unusually for Clifford Chance, Pearson’s election was not without challengers. As revealed on www.thelawyer.com (20 November), three corporate partners were nominated to stand against Pearson. These were Jonathan Beastall, Keith Hyman and Mark Poulton. Following discussions with the potential candidates, none of the names went forward to the vote.
Global corporate practice leader Peter Charlton told The Lawyer: “We are pleased he has been re-elected. Going forward, we will continue with the same focus.”
Pearson will be working closely with the new chief operating officer (COO) of the global corporate group Fiona Radford Parker, who started earlier this week. She was previously COO of Atos Consulting Limited and will partly replace former general manager of London corporate Rod Kentish, who left earlier this year.
