Reed Smith reunites ex-Freshfields finance duo” />Reed Smith Richards Butler has boosted its finance practice with the addition of Clyde & Co asset finance partner Siva Subramaniam.
Subramaniam, who joins from the London office of Clyde & Co, where he was also a partner, is reunited with Rex Rosales, who leads Reed Smith’s transport finance practice in London. Both were together at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Rosales said he was “ecstatic” that Subramaniam had joined his team. “He is a consummate professional and a business builder,” he added.
“He is joining an energetic team within a dynamic firm and this hire demonstrates Reed Smith Richards Butler’s growing commitment to transport finance. We’re taking advantage of the existing platform and taking it to the next level. We see current market troubles as creating opportunities for those willing to innovate.”
Rosales joined Reed Smith from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer last year. He worked with Subramaniam at his previous firm. Prior to joining Clydes as a partner in January 2006 Subramaniam was a senior associate at the magic circle firm.
Subramaniam said: “I am looking forward to reuniting with Rex to work as a team again.”
Subramaniam’s practice focuses on the financing and leasing of assets including corporate and commercial aircraft, rolling stock, film, infrastructure, ground-handling and defence related assets.
A spokeswoman for Clydes said the firm has been focusing on growing its asset finance team for some time and sees no need to directly replace Subramaniam.
