Dewey Ballantine has poached former deputy general counsel of US property developing company KB Home for its global finance group.
Charles Carroll will join the firm as partner in New York to work alongside department head Richard Shutran.
Shutran said: “Charlie is highly regarded in the institutional finance community. Clients as well as lawyers at Dewey have worked closely with Charlie over the years. He has demonstrated a high level of expertise in various transactions.”
Carroll, who is a former partner at rival US firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, primarily advises clients in the global energy sector.
Last month (28 August) The Lawyer reported that Dewey and fellow New York headquartered firm LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae plan to merge at the beginning of October, subject to partner approval.
