Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has raided Dewey Ballantine’s London office for a new head of the firm’s global projects practice.
Dewey partner Jonathan Simpson resigned yesterday (5 October) to join BLP as a senior equity partner. He is expected to leave at the end of the week.
In his new role, Simpson will also become a member of BLP’s international strategy committee and will help the firm to develop its overseas strategy.
Simpson’s clients include central and eastern European governments, Citibank, JP Morgan, Nomura and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
BLP hopes that Simpson’s appointment will help the firm’s projects practice, which is predominantly domestic to win more overseas mandates.
Simpson has been a partner at Dewey’s London office for approximately four years. Before that he was at Allen & Overy.
