Regional and national firms have once again showed up their City and international rivals in The Sunday Times survey of the 100 best places to work

DLA came top of the law firms, regaining its sixteenth place from 2001. Wragge & Co, in 34th, won the second most rated firm, despite dropping 15 places, and new entrant Dickinson Dees was just behind in 38th place.

Simmons & Simmons continued its freefall this year after placing 81st, compared with last year's 48th, and 24th in 2001. But Osborne Clarke, which last year placed 56th, is this year missing from the list.

Other firms to make the top 100 this year included CMS Cameron McKenna, Eversheds and new entrant Keoghs.
