Martin will join AAR to head up the firm's new consultancy arm, Allens Business Solutions.
Martin worked at Deacons for 20 years with a break as an investment banker at Rothschild and in the New South Wales government. He founded Deacons' consultancy business DGJ Projects in 1995.
Martin said in a statement: “I've been impressed with the enthusiasm of the firm to harness the wide-ranging business knowledge and skills that reside here to assist a client base of emerging companies needing advice.”
The executive chairman of Allens Business Solutions John Harry claimed that the consultancy already had several significant projects underway. “The response so far to the Solutions concept is highly encouraging, given that we haven't actively gone out into the market yet to explain the skills we offer,” he said.
The capture of Martin is something of a coup for Allens Business Solutions. DGJ Projects was a success story for Deacons, which has project managed high-profile infrastructure and government initiatives, including the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority development.
