UK firms set their sights on Indian market

MEANWHILE, India remains firmlyin the minds of the UK firms, witha range of mid-market operations now setting their sights on the lucrative work available in the country. Lawrence Graham set the tone when it closed a $25m (£13.7m) acquisition in India within the past month. The firm also featured on one of the highest-profile deals out of the country in recent times, advising nominated adviser Arden Partners on Great Eastern Energy’s £105m AIM floatation. Olswang, another firm that is developing a focus on India, advised Great Eastern.

A quick glance at other recent deals shows firms such as Mishcon de Reya, which is leveraging off its immigration and private client practices to sell Indian work into its corporate group, Bird & Bird and Field Fisher Waterhouse are all active in the market.
