Mayer Brown has boosted its London construction and engineering group with the hire of Field Fisher Waterhouse‘s construction head, Chris Fellowes.

Fellowes’ move marks a return to the firm where he trained. He spent six years at legacy firm Rowe & Maw before leaving in 2001.

Michael Regan, lead partner for Mayer Brown’s construction and engineering group in London, said: “Our objective is to expand the group significantly and broaden its capabilities over the next few years. We believe that Chris will make an important contribution as we work together to achieve this.”

Fellowes will start in the New Year, transferring a practice focused on legal advice to property developers, real estate funds and contractors on construction projects.

Fellowes will join an expanding London office at Mayer Brown. The firm made up 10 partners in the City last month, the most of all US law firms with a UK practice.
