The stars of the legal profession have been rewarded for their efforts this year with places in the 2008 edition of Who’s Who, with lawyers making up 17 per cent of new entries.

Around 170 of the 1000 new names to grace Who’s Who have come from the legal profession, including SJ Berwin senior partner Jonathan Blake and Berwin Leighton Paisner managing partner Neville Eisenberg.

Linklaters has three new partners in the book: senior partner David Cheyne and litigation partners Diana Good and Christopher Style QC.

Scottish firm Dundas & Wilson is represented by joint managing partners Donald Shaw and Alan Campbell in the new Who’s Who. They join Richard Henderson, the head of the Government Legal Service for Scotland from 1999 to 2007 and president of the Law Society of Scotland since earlier this year.

Most of the new legal names were QCs who took silk last year, including 11 South Square’s Iain Purvis QC, who helped songwriter Matthew Fisher win royalties from Procol Harum for his work on hit song Whiter Shade of Pale.

Peters & Peters’ former senior partner Monty Raphael also made this year’s edition.

They all join model Kate Moss, golfer Darren Clarke and England rugby player Jonny Wilkinson as new entries.
