Leading civil set 1 Crown Office Row is taking on three tenants courtesy of the regional bar’s first two dissolutions.
The London-based chambers’ Brighton annexe is taking on two tenants from Sussex Chambers – its head Paul Ashwell and Darren Howe.
The set is disbanding after the loss of four tenants to Cardinal Chambers which will leave 1 Crown Office as the only set based in Brighton (The Lawyer, 27 March).
The Brighton annexe of 1 Crown Office Row is also picking up Rachel Claridge from the dissolving King’s Chambers in Eastbourne.
The dissolution of the sets follows that of several London chambers.
Earlier this month, One Gray’s Inn Square, headed by foreign office minister Baroness Patricia Scotland QC, disbanded after the departure of the entire 12-strong family team to Gray’s Inn Chambers.
George Carman QC’s set New Court Chambers also dissolved earlier this year while Lindsay Burn’s Queen Elizabeth Building closed its doors on 24 December.
