<a class=Michelmores’ first managing partner predicts massive growth” />South West firm Michelmores has appointed Malcolm Dickinson to the newly created position of managing partner.

Dickinson, formerly head of company commercial, will sit on the firm’s board alongside senior partner Will Michelmore and practice director Andrew Lovell.

Dickinson said Michelmores is entering a new phase of growth. “The last management restructure we had was seven years ago when we had a turnover of £5m,” he said.

The firm achieved a 25 per cent rise in turnover to £16.9m this year – up from £13.5m in 2006-07 – and is targeting a 196 per cent rise from £16.9m to £50m within five years.

Lovell said: “This gives us some extra management resources and the opportunity to have a clear division between the management of the firm and the department heads.”

The 12-strong equity partnership, which makes up almost a third of the firm’s total of 33 partners, elected Dickinson to the post. His term will last three years, after which the post will come up for re-election.
