Interoute has hired experienced Bulldog Comm-unications chief legal officer and general counsel Maurice Woolf, who leaves the telecoms provider after just one year.
Woolf succeeds former group legal counsel Richard Hastings, who quit last month to become O2’s UK legal chief.
Both share a great deal of experience of insolvency proceedings. Hastings guided Interoute during its receivership, while Woolf was head of legal and commercial at KPN Qwest when the Dutch company went into administration. Woolf was general counsel of Ebone, the pan-European network of GlobalTelesystems, when KPN bought it in March 2002. Following a management shake-up and the closure of Ebone, KPN retained Woolf as head of legal and commercial.
Woolf told The Lawyer: “I saw the whole lifecycle of that company and devoted a lot of my life to it. Interoute offers the opportunity to take that experience and apply it at an alternative carrier.”
Revantha Sinnetamby, the in-house counsel at SmartTrust, a Swedish software house for the mobile industry, will replace Woolf.
