Lovells is expanding its Singapore offering by developing its corporate practice after taking extra floor space to accommodate the growth.

The firm is doubling its office space in Singapore’s UOB Plaza.

“There’s been huge growth in the office in our banking and projects practices and we’re now keen to add a corporate offer-ing,” said Lovells Asia managing partner Crispin Rapinet.

The office, which has been focused on the infrastructure and energy, oil and gas sectors, plans to hire a senior corporate lawyer for the team, which has just two partners.

“The growth will probably be through lateral hires, but inter-office transfer is always something that we look at as well,” he said.

Rapinet said the move is a response to opportunities arising from investment bank clients.
