Field Fisher Waterhouse‘s (FFW) former German alliance partner Buse Heberer Fromm is creating its own European network and has merged with Frankfurt firm Heide Rechtsanwälte, which has strong ties to France.

Buse has offices in six German cities and representative offices in New York, Mallorca, Sydney and Zürich. It has recently opened up in Paris and Brussels and is looking to launch in Dubai, London, Milan and Moscow during the next two years.

Buse managing partner Christian Pothe said: “We intend to lay down double-digit growth every year. At the moment we’re also looking at Asia from our Sydney office and are considering Shanghai or Beijing in the medium term.”

The merger sees Heide’s eight-fee-earner practice joining up with Buse’s 120 lawyers by 1 January 2008. Around 15 per cent of the firm’s turnover of approximately 234m (£23.63m) was generated through instructions from its foreign locations.
