The French bar has issued a snub to the Government by voting once again to bar lawyers from working alongside consultants.
The Conseil Nationale des Barreux voted that lawyers can only work alongside regulated professions in multidisciplinary practices
While joint practices with accountants and architects are allowed, the real moneyspinner of joining up with business consultants is still barred.
The move pre-empts a report by former justice minister Henri Nallet due at the end of May into the status of lawyers in mdps.
The early decision means that whatever Nallet concludes in his report, it will have no effect because the bar members will be bound by their body's ruling.
“It is all out war between the bar and the Government,” says Caura Barszcz, editor Juristes Associes.
