Gide Loyrette Nouel is launching an office in Hong Kong in an effort to build on its extensive Asian capability.
The French firm has recently been granted a licence to operate in Hong Kong and will open its office in June. Beijing-based partner Stéphane Vernay will be responsible for running the new office, assisted by senior associates Rebecca Silli and Fabrice Turries.
Senior partner Gérard Tavernier said the office opening was in response to client need in Asia, and that Gide would initially focus on M&A work and capital markets.
Recently Istanbul managing partner Guillaume Rougier-Brierre relocated to Gide’s Beijing office, bolstering the firm’s strength on mainland China. The firm also has an office in Shanghai.
