King & Spalding has scored another coup for its private equity group by taking on a funds specialist from Goldman Sachs.
Stephen Culhane served as vice president and associate general counsel at Goldman Sachs & Co and was also legal director of the investment bank’s private equity group. Culhane will join King & Spalding’s expansionist New York private equity group where he will specialise in fund formation work.
Culhane is just one of a number of new recruits to the firm in recent months. In February, Robert Finley, the former managing partner of the pre-Rogers & Wells Clifford Chance, moved to King & Spalding’s private equity practice. While in London it bolstered corporate by taking partner Charles Alexander from Weil Gotshal & Manges back in January.
