Former Herbert Smith Freehills partner Kevin Lloyd has joined Debevoise & Plimpton as a partner. Lloyd, a senior partner in the commercial litigation group, began his career at Herbert Smith before joining Mallesons Stephen Jaques in 1988, where he was named a partner in 1990. He rejoined Herbert Smith in 1999 as a partner and served on the firm’s board from 2009 to 2012.



Fladgate has added two partners, real estate litigation partner Thekla Fellas and construction and projects partner Cathy Ley. Fellas joins the firm from DAC Beachcroft, while Ley joins from Rosenblatt, where she was head of projects, construction and infrastructure.


Moore Blatch has appointed corporate finance expert Stephen Clow to head its new London office. Clow, who has more than 30 years’ experience in public markets, M&A and corporate work, joins from DMH Stallard.

Baker & McKenzie has shaken up the London management committee, with partners Helen Bradley and Monica Kurnatowska added to the board. Corporate partner Bradley and employment partner Kurnatowska have both been elected to the management committee for a two-year term, effective from 1 September. They will replace Gary Senior and Peter Strivens, who will step down after 10 and five years on the committee respectively.


DAC Beachcroft has appointed two new partners to its corporate insurance and health real estate teams. Adrian Williams joins as a partner in the corporate insurance team from Swiss Re, where he was general counsel, Emea, based in Zurich. Partner Nathan East, who specialises in advising medical professionals, developers and care providers joins from Hempsons.

Maclay Murray & Spens has strengthened its corporate team with the hire of three partners. Energy lawyer Guy de Speville, currently assistant general counsel with international exploration company Hess Corporation and Jonathan Ingram, a restructuring specialist, will be based in MMS’ London office. Andy Lowe, a former Guernsey-based managing associate with an extensive corporate and funds record, joins the Aberdeen team.


Cheshire firm Forshaws Davies Ridgway has appointed Oliver Burton as its first chief executive. He joins from RBS, where he was a director of corporate banking. He will be based in the Warrington office and will be responsible for managing staff in the Stockton Heath and Frodsham offices as well as the specialist commercial branch in Bold Street.

Nottingham’s Fraser Brown has promoted John Buchanan to partner in the employment and HR practice. Buchanan joined in 2012, having previously worked at Rothera Dowson and national firm DWF.

Minster Law has appointed Adam Nabozny as a senior manager to lead its employer and occupier liability teams. Nabozny joins the firm after 13 years at Morrish Solicitors, where he was a partner with joint responsibility for the personal injury department.

Bowcock & Pursaill has expanded its litigation team with the addition of Seb Wright, who joins as a solicitor from Bury’s Clough & Willis Solicitors, where he worked as a litigation solicitor and debt recovery case manager.

The bar

Blackstone Chambers has added leading Indian barrister Harish Salve as a member. Salve is a regular adviser in India to the metal conglomerate Tata Group
as well as advising billionaire Lakshmi Mittal and Arcelor Mittal on top level disputes.

Doughty Street Chambers has added two new members to its roster. Barristers Adam Straw and Jude Bunting join the set’s public law team from Tooks Chambers. Straw was called to the bar in 2004, while Bunting was called in 2006.

Exchange Chambers has continued expansion in Leeds by adding barrister Andrew Wastall as its latest tenant. Wastall joins Exchange from New Park Court Chambers in Leeds.


Osborne Clarke is launching a Paris office with a partner hire from local firm De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés. Partner Béatrice Delmas-Linel joins after over four years as a partner at De Gaulle Fleurance. Prior to joining the firm, Delmas-Linel was a senior member of the Emea in-house team at Microsoft.

Wragge & Co has enhanced its real estate and international capabilities with a four-lawyer real estate team from Bird & Bird. Partner Constance de La Hosseraye, who will lead Wragges’ Paris-based real estate team, has joined with three associates. De La Hosseraye joined Bird & Bird as a partner in 2007 and was responsible for developing the firm’s real estate practice in Paris.

Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner has added a partner to its corporate and M&A practice in the shape of Arnt Göppert, who joins from the Cologne office at Hogan Lovells. Göppert specialises in national and cross-border corporate and financial transactions.

Watson, Farley & Williams has appointed Dr Torsten Rosenboom as partner in its expanding Frankfurt office, which opened in January 2013. Dr Rosenboom, who specialises in company acquisitions as well as corporate and contract law, previously with Linklaters and Berger Steck & Kollegen, has been operating his own practice since October 2012.

Former Morgan Stanley head of compliance for South East Asia, Nizam Ismail, has joined Taylor Wessing’s Singapore office as a partner to lead its regional compliance solutions unit.

Middle East

Holman Fenwick Willan has added lawyer Hari Krishna to its Dubai office as a senior associate. The shipping, commodities and offshore energy specialist joins from Clyde & Co.
