Dickinson Dees' national strategy boosts turnover

North East firm Dickinson Dees has recorded an increase in turnover for the last financial year of 21 per cent, up from £26m to £31.5m

Profits per partner stood at an average of £280,000 for the year, up from £235,000 the year before.
The firm has a similar strategy to Leeds-based Walker Morris, in that it focuses on winning national work from local clients. Like Walker Morris, which recorded a turnover figure of £31m, the strategy is paying off.
Dickinson Dees partners at the top of equity can expect to earn £310,000, up from £290,000 the previous year.
Managing partner Neil Braithwaite told The Lawyer: “We had more work in certain practice areas, like the chemical sector, but the extra revenue wasn't due to just one new client. All of our areas did well and it wasn't a case of one area outperforming others.”
The firm will continue to focus on its private client base.
“Unlike a lot of other firms, we continue to see this as a major part of our business,” said Braithwaite.
