Andrew Craig Larman, 44, admitted 1981, practised at material time in partnership with Williams Mann, Bristol, struck off and ordered to pay £882 costs. Allegations substantiated he wrongly drew and used client money for own purposes and those of other clients and failed to keep properly written accounts. Total claims of around £27,000 expected to be made on Solicitors Indemnity Fund as a result.
Haydn Birch, of South Glamorgan, who was suspended from practice indefinitely in September 1991, failed in application to have suspension lifted. Suspension imposed after allegations substantiated he wrongly drew and used client money for his own purposes, failed to keep properly written accounts and breached condition on his practising certificate.
Gary Stephen Oram, solicitor's clerk with O'Leary & Co, Hackney, London, at material times, banned from working for any further solicitors without written consent from Law Society. Allegations substantiated he was jailed for 18 months after conviction at Southwark Crown Court of five offences of procuring execution of a valuable security by deception, one offence of obtaining property by deception and one of attempting to obtain property by deception.
John Barry Shaw, admitted 1980, practised as Shaw & Co, Saffron Waldon, struck off and ordered to pay £8,000 costs. Allegations substantiated he failed to properly account to client for funds held on cli-ent's behalf, acted for two clients where their interests substantially conflicted, misled third parties as to his status in the affairs of certain companies. Shaw previously before Tribunal in May 1990. Tribunal said his behaviour in the latest matters had been "disgraceful and despicable".
Christopher Robert Hamilton, solicitor's clerk at material time with Bennett Oakley & Partners, Burgess Hill, banned from working for any further solicitors without written consent from Law Society. Allegations substantiated he was jailed for two years after conviction at Lewes Crown Court in May 1995 of four counts of theft with three further theft counts taken into consideration.
