The Law Society is to extend the deadline for applicants for the international seat on its ruling council following complaints from the City of London Law Society that larger City firms did not have enough time to identify interested partners. Anthony Pugh-Thomas, City of London Law Society president, said he was “slightly miffed” that the society had given its applicants only three weeks, until mid-July, to apply for both the international seat on the Law Society council. He said the seat “would be of interest to the City”.
