Revenue hike sees Edwards Angell vie for elite US status in City

The London office of US outfit Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge (EAPD) saw its London turnover rocket by almost 50 per cent in 2010, putting it on course to break into the top 30 US firms in the City.

The firm’s London ­revenue rose from $20.6m (£12.76m) in 2009 to $30.3m in 2010, an increase of 47 per cent that outstripped its global revenue growth of 4 per cent to $287.5m. The firm has a 14 January financial year-end.

Edwards Angell’s London office was formed in ­January 2008 following the acquisition of Kendall ­Freeman. It embarked on a hiring spree in the City last year, and of the 12 partners hired in 2010 five were in London.

They include Niall ­McAlister, a corporate ­partner who joined this month from CMS Cameron McKenna, and IP specialist Ben Goodger from Rouse Legal.
