Berrymans leaves Hall Clark in tatters

City firm Berrymans Lace Mawer has taken on the senior partner and three others from London-based Hall Clark – leaving the smaller firm facing closure and 11 lawyers out of work.

Beryl Whight joins Berrymans, which also has offices in Liverpool and Manchester, as a consultant. She is accompanied by partner Andrew Pieri and two assistants.

The bulk of the Hall Clark practice was motor and personal injury insurance.

Whight has declined to comment, but a spokesperson for Hall Clark says: “This is a traumatic time for everyone.”

Tim Oliver, head of personal injury and insurance at Berrymans, says Whight and Pieri are well known in the motor insurance litigation field and he was delighted they were joining the firm.
